The short version
We run Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. That is the only non-essential cookie set here. We run no advertising pixels, no retargeting tags, and no cross-site trackers, and we do not sell or share what we collect.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to keep. It lets the site recognise the same browser on a later page or a later visit. Related technologies, such as localStorage and pixels, do much the same job, and this policy covers those too.
What this site sets
The site itself sets no cookies to run. Nothing here needs an account, a shopping basket, or a login, so there is no session cookie. The cookies below come from Google Analytics.
These are analytics cookies, not essential ones. The site works normally with them blocked. We use what they report to see which services people read about and where the site is confusing, nothing more.

Turning cookies off
You can refuse or delete these cookies at any time, and nothing on the site will break.
- In your browser. Every major browser can block or clear cookies for a single site. Look under Settings for Privacy, Cookies, or Site data.
- Google's own opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that switches off Google Analytics everywhere: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends either signal, we treat it as an objection to analytics.
Visitors in the EU, UK, and California
Hoffman Water serves industrial and commercial facilities in Ohio and the bordering states, so visitors from the EU and UK are rare. We have not put a consent banner on the site for that reason.
If you are in the EU or UK and would rather these analytics cookies had not been set, block them using any of the methods above and email us; we will confirm removal of anything already collected that relates to you. Under GDPR you may ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to analytics entirely. Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have comparable rights, and we confirm again that we do not sell or share personal information.
If our traffic pattern changes, we will add a proper consent banner that blocks analytics until you agree, rather than relying on disclosure alone. Requests under any of these laws go to the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie, this page changes with it and the "Last updated" date moves. Adding anything that tracks you across other sites would mean asking for consent first.
